Imtech Marine strengthens the Radio Holland network in the US

In a continued effort to better serve customers and drive growth, Imtech Marine will reshape its Radio Holland organization in the US. Key initiatives include the expansion of the service network to an increased number of ports; the broadening of the product portfolio; the consolidation of service dispatch and back office functions into one central location; and the increase of flexibility of the current logistics operations.

Expansion of the Network

In order to further strengthen the presence from coast to coast, Radio Holland will place service engineers in additional ports around the US. In the initial phase we will expand to serve 15 locations, by adding 4 new ports to our network: Charleston - SC, Savannah - GA, Corpus Christi – TX and Portland – OR. Through the expansion of the network, Radio Holland USA can much better serve customers in all ports without the delay of having to bring in personnel, and, at the same time, offer more attractive pricing of service calls. In the near future further ports will be added to the service network.

Broadening the portfolio

As a member of Imtech Marine, Radio Holland has access to a significant amount of additional maritime technology bolstering its traditional strength in the Navigation & Communication segment. Imtech Marine’s advanced technological solutions focus on the whole life cycle of the vessel, from new build through decommissioning. The expanded portfolio provides clients with an option for whole ship solutions with a single point of contact and project management. Radio Holland has begun bidding integrated Imtech Marine solutions that, beyond bridge equipment, include electrical systems, power management, propulsion, ship automation and alarm & monitoring systems.

Improving Customer Service

Radio Holland USA is investing in a central Customer Service Management department located in its Houston, TX corporate headquarters. This includes a new service dispatch platform and software, which will significantly improve response times for call handling and dispatch. It will offer the option of one point of contact for the customer to request service from coast to coast, as an alternative to contacting the local representative. Major improvements will be achieved in communication and handling of calls as ships move from port to port with no hand-over needed from region to region. Local service engineers and central coordination will ensure continuation of first class service in all locations.

Ensure Logistics Flexibility

While expanding its network, Radio Holland USA will increase its flexibility in handling equipment and parts. Together with well established and state-of-the-art strategic partners in the logistics field, Radio Holland will ensure that the right part is always at the right place at the right time. This new and finely meshed distribution system will also allow for “will calls” and pickup for customers at locations that previously did not offer that possibility.
